A true hidden gem of Aussie backpackers. Friendly Staff a famous location and affordable accommodation for anyone on a budget holiday. Always Good vibes from fellow travelers/staff, and a great place to meet new people. It's more then likely you will extend your initial stay with these guys as it's easy cheap and often the rustic charm of the place will win you over to stay another night. A short 3 day stay quickly turned into a week long vacation and zero complaints were had on my behalf. With staff who are happy to help at all times of the day, onsite parking and everything within the CBD in walking distance it's an obvious choice that PMB is the best pick for your Port Macquarie holiday. - Oliver

Best hostel I’ve stayed at yet! Everything was clean, kitchen was fully equipped and also clean, tv room, pool table,.. book of recommendations in the area is so useful! But most of all, the staff is amazing and made our stay so pleasurable. They’ll definitely be the thing I’ll miss most about port macquerie! - Louise

An amazing hostel! One of the best we’ve stayed in so far in Aus. Ben and Tash were so accommodating and helpful and everyone was super friendly and relaxed. Everything was super clean, great pool and location! - Elizabeth

I had a lovely stay here, Tash was great and it feels like a little family in there. The facilities were all really clean and well looked after too! I’ll definitely be back if I’m passing though again - Georgina

Stopped by Port Macquarie for a 2 nights stay here, it truly felt like a home away from home. The facilities are clean, staff SUPER friendly and there are good deals you can get just by staying there (just approach reception)! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and my only regret is not staying there longer (there’s a lot to do at Port Macquarie too!). Definitely recommend staying here to anyone passing by or visiting Port Macquarie! - Yih Jing

Gosh, what an amazing hostel! We can totally recommend staying there! Facilities including kitchen and bathrooms were clean and even the kitchen was well equipped with kitchen essentials. Ben, the host, is amazing! He is willing to help out and tries to do anything for making your stay most comfortable. Thanks for having us, Ben! - Rabea

I really loved my stay at PMQ backpackers! I extended it from 2 nights to 4, and would have loved to stay longer if prior commitments hadn’t interfered! Ben was incredible and made everyone feel so welcome and comfortable. The hostel was well maintained, with the communal spaces all being very clean and tidy. I loved how the kitchen had designated baskets for each persons’ foods so as it was neat and you could clearly find your own belongings. The sofas in the lounge and the hammocks by the pool were very comfortable, and several hours a day were spent in them! The location was great, very central and easy walking distance to most places. Definitely will stay here again when next in the area. - Ingrid

We spent a night at the Port Macquarie Backpackers and really enjoyed the experience. We were especially touched by Ben's friendly and caring welcome! Ben was very attentive and gave us lots of good advice for the rest of our trip.
The hostel is very pleasant to live in, clean and offers activities (pool tournament, pizza night) to bring people together.
We felt at home! :)

Small, familiar hostel :) one of the best hostel experiences in 6 months of travelling; it's feels more like a shared apartment, where everyone sits together and spends the day with lots of other people. super friendly staff, clean kitchen, compfy beds and living area - Schaefer

This place was like a home away from home whilst on a business trip. The host Ben is the friendliest, most down to earth dude ever who always has plenty of ideas for how you can squeeze the most out of your stay and all the best spots to stay. The rooms are tidy and the atmosphere is unreal. I'll be back for sure! - Louis
